Nowhere Meditation

About

Picture
John began a meditation practice out of desperation, hopelessness, and immense suffering. As a trauma and abuse survivor as well as a former addict in recovery, he brings empathy, understanding, openness, and attunement to those he meets. Having experienced the unfolding of nondual realization and its profound effects via meditation and enquiry, he has first-hand understanding of the psychological and emotional shifts that can occur within a practitioner, as well as knowing when to direct a practitioner to a qualified mental health care provider or experienced spiritual teacher. Additionally, his background as a musician gives him insight into the thought processes of artists, performers, and other creatives, and the unique set of circumstances they experience.

Alongside his meditation practice and sharing his experiences with nonduality, John has been a professional operatic tenor for the past 15 years. He currently serves on faculty at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he teaches in the voice area and assists with vocal and opera outreach projects in Fort Collins and abroad, in addition to maintaining a modest performance schedule when the opportunity arises.
